A software developer has created a unique website that allows readers to experience what it is like to have dyslexia.
At first glance, Victor Widell’s page looks the same as any other text you might see online.
However, on closer inspection the reader will notice jumbled words with letters constantly shifting and changing.
Speaking to Quartz, Widell said he had the idea three years ago while sitting in a conference.
One of his friends with dyslexia described how the letters on the page kept “jumping around” and so he created code that mimicked this.

“A friend who has dyslexia described to me how she experiences reading. She can read, but it takes a lot of concentration, and the letters seem to ‘jump around,'” he writes on his website.
“I remembered reading about typoglycemia. Wouldn’t it be possible to do it interactively on a website with JavaScript? Sure it would.”
One Reddit user commented:
“I have dyslexia and although this is accurate, this is a more extreme case!”
According to the charity Dyslexia Action, one in ten people in the UK are throught to have dyslexia.
